Habitat for Humanity
Our company is heavily invested in our local community and feels that honesty along with a calculated blend of quality of and cost effectiveness are the hallmarks of success.
On September 27th 2008 RPI design build LLC and the Borough of Morris Plains “The Community of Caring” hosted its first annual 5K Fun Run to benefit Morris Habitat for Humanity. Participants in the 5K ran a marked course through the streets of Morris Plains raising money and awareness of those families in need of quality housing. Following the 5K, there was a Kids’ Fun Run for children ages 2-14. Runner registration fees along with corporate underwriting totaled over $10,000, directly benefiting Habitat’s Hazel Street (Morristown) Project.
Blair Schleicher-Wilson, Executive Director of Morris County Habitat commented, “Our mission is to build homes in partnership with the community and families in need. RPI Design Build beautifully exemplifies that mission—by gathering the community together for a fun and healthy activity, while raising funds for families in need.”
Over 300 registered runners participated in the event which also featured kids races and on-site entertainment.
“RPI Design Build is very proud of the effort the volunteers have tirelessly donated to this terrific event”, noted Matt Wendorff, President of RPI, “we want to build upon this year’s success, and continue to grow participation for years to come”.
2010 marked our third annual Share the Care 5k, and the race continues to grow. We are greatful for the support of Morris Plains and our sponsors and look forward to next year!!
